COMING SOON TO NORTHPORT, MICHIGAN
Nestled in the village of Northport, Michigan, Pernette’s is more than just an antique store—it’s a tribute to the rich and storied history of the Great Lakes region. Northport, perched on the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, played a vital role in Michigan’s early days as a hub for trade long before statehood in 1837. Traders, voyageurs, and indigenous communities converged here, drawn by the abundant resources of the Great Lakes and the land’s natural beauty.
The store’s name, “Pernette,” is an homage to an old French family name with ties to Northern Canada’s fur trade in the early 1800s. Inspired by the legacy of French fur traders, Pernette’s celebrates that history woven into the fabric of Northern Michigan’s past. A time when traders navigated local waters, exchanging goods, coins, tools, keepsakes, and stories during long journeys across waterways and rugged terrain. We honor that spirit of exploration and craftsmanship. Our collection of unique finds has been thoughtfully curated to spark curiosity and inspire discovery.
Pernette’s is more than a store—it’s a place where the past and present converge, inviting visitors to carry a piece of Northport’s legacy with them.
